Highlights

  • Wildlife Habitat, an open and interactive environment - wander along elevated boardwalks, observing Australian Animals up close - Koalas, Kangaroos, Wallabies, Cassowaries, Saltwater Crocodiles, Freshwater Crocodiles, Australian birds. There is a huge range of flora and fauna as birds fly freely and some of the animals roam freely too!

  • Hand feed the wallabies and Kangaroos, and join in the wildlife presentations ( Cassowary, Koala, Reptile & Saltwater Crocodile) before sitting down for the Crocodile Feeding Presentation.

  • See the famous "Tree Kangaroos" (kangaroos that live in the trees !) along with the enormous birds - The Cassowary, Jabiru (Black Neck Stork) and the Brolga.

  • Dreamtime Walk - Tour 7a (additional $90 per person) - An immersive cultural experience. - Begin with a traditional 'smoking' ceremony to cleanse and connect with the rainforest's spirits. Follow your knowledgeable Indigenous guide on a private rainforest track, learning about traditional plant use, bush food sources, and ancient traditions like bush soaps and ochre painting. Conclude your walk with a delightful serving of traditional bush tea and damper—a perfect finale to your rainforest journey.

  • Mossman Gorge Daintree Rainforest Walk - Tour 7b, Free-time to explore the enchanting Daintree Rainforest. Walk along the boardwalks that sit high above the ground in the rainforest canopy. Walk along the tracks over the crystal clear creeks and meandering river streams to the lookouts, viewing areas and swimming holes.

After taking the famous scenic drive to Port Douglas, our first destination is Wildlife Habitat, an open and interactive environment for guests and animals to mingle in a spacious natural setting. Visitors wander along elevated boardwalks, observing up close a huge range of flora and fauna as birds fly and animals roam freely.

 

Hand feed the wallabies and Kangaroos, and join in the wildlife presentations of the Cassowary, Koala, Reptile & Saltwater Crocodiles) before sitting down for the Crocodile Feeding Presentation.

Tour 7a includes a 90 minute walk, a deep immersive cultural experience with the local aboriginal tribe, known as - the 'Dreamtime Walk'.

DREAMTIME WALKS

A "must do" for every visitor to Mossman Gorge are the Ngadiku Dreamtime Walks, conducted by the local Indigenous people. Ngadiku (Nar-di-gul) means stories and legends from a long time ago in local Kuku Yalanji language. This Mossman Gorge tour takes visitors on a guided walk along private, gentle tracks, visiting special places and culturally significant sites, past traditional bark shelters and over meandering cool rainforest streams. 

ABOUT DREAMTIME WALKS

Your Dreamtime Walk begins with a traditional ‘smoking’ ceremony to cleanse and ward off bad spirits. Next, your guide will lead you on a meandering stroll through stunning, lush rainforest, observing traditional huts or humpies along the way. Your experienced interpretive Indigenous guide demonstrates traditional plant use, identifies bush food sources, and provides an enchanting narrative of the rainforest and their special relationship with this unique tropical environment. Discover traditions like making bush soaps and ochre painting. At the end of the tour, enjoy traditional bush tea and damper – the perfect treat after your journey.

Tour 7b includes a guided walk with your Sacred Owl Tours guide,  exploring the Daintree Rainforest and  Mossman Gorge's lush rainforest. Traverse scenic boardwalks, discover lookout points, and immerse yourself in the serene surroundings.


Enjoy some free time to soak in the healing energies of Mossman Gorge's waters, surrounded by ancient granite boulders and the tranquil rainforest ambiance. This tour operates 7 days per week with transfers from Cairns, Northern Beaches and Port Douglas.  

This tour does not always operate on public holidays, please check the booking calendar for the availability.

  • Please advise your tour guide if you are unable to swim or unable to swim confidently on your own.
