Walk along the tracks over the crystal clear creeks and meandering river streams to the lookouts, viewing areas and swimming holes.

After taking the famous scenic drive to Port Douglas, our first destination is Wildlife Habitat, an open and interactive environment for guests and animals to mingle in a spacious natural setting. Visitors wander along elevated boardwalks, observing up close a huge range of flora and fauna as birds fly and animals roam freely.

 

Hand feed the wallabies and Kangaroos, and join in the wildlife presentations (wetlands birds, Cassowary, koala, Reptile & Saltwater Crocodiles) before sitting down for the Crocodile Feeding Presentation.

Guests booked on Tour 7A, who have opted for a Swim with the Saltwater Crocodiles will experience the ultimate adrenaline rush and dive into the aquatic territory with two of the mightiest Estuarine Crocodiles at Wildlife Habitat's Crocodile Arena. This is not for the faint of heart, but if you're up for the challenge, this is the only opportunity of its kind in Queensland to swim with these incredible predators and live to tell the tale!

 

Next stop is Mossman Gorge, where you'll enjoy a swim in the cool refreshing crystal clear waters of Mossman Gorge and your choice of a guided walk through the rainforest or some free-time to explore the Daintree Rainforest and Mossman Gorge,

Optional Extra **Swim With The Saltwater Crocodiles (Tour 7A)

Crocodile Arena is home to the spine-tingling Swim With The Saltwater Crocodiles experience. Swim just centimeters away from these enormous creatures and engage in the most terrifying experience that comes from watching these apex predators' bone-crushing jaws snap close. Marvel at the sheer power and size of these giant reptiles as you witness their incredible strength and agility up close.

Our Swim With The Saltwater Crocodiles, Big Al and Ton - from the Australia Zoo, are not for the faint hearted. With an average size of just over 4.5 meters and weighing in at around 350-400 kilograms each, these boys are true beasts. But don't worry, you'll be in safe hands with our experienced guides who will give you a comprehensive briefing on how to stay safe during the swim.

Swim With The Saltwater Crocodiles

Safety: CrocArena is a world class facility that has been engineered to ensure
customer safety and enjoyment. The swim pool runs a separate water and filtration system to the Crocodile pools, ensuring cleanliness and water quality for both the swimmer and the crocodiles. Swimmers will have a staff member within easy access at all times when the experience is underway.

  • Participants must be 12 years and over to Swim with the Salties.

  • ID is required for proof of age.

  • Persons between 12-17 years must be accompanied by an adult or person over 18 years of age.

  • Participants are required to sign an indemnity release form and health waiver from Wildlife Habitat and CaPTA Group of Companies prior to the swim time. Participants between 12-17 year of age are required to have parental consent and indemnity signed by a parent/ legal guardian.

  • Participants must be physically able to get themselves up and down stairs/ steps unassisted, and swim unaided without a flotation device.

  • Time in water may vary with each swim – approx. 10 minutes water time per swim.

  • Customers are not permitted to bring their own camera on the Swim with the Salties experience, a go pro is available for hire $49 includes the purchase of the micro SD card to keep !

  •  Customers must sign a waiver and undertake a safety briefing prior to swim.


What To Bring Or Wear

  • Comfortable and easy wear shoes. Hat, towel and swim wear

  • We recommend wearing your swim wear under your clothes before you arrive for the day to maximise your swim time.

  • Insect repellent 

  • Water bottle 

  • Hat / Sunscreen 

  • Umbrella/raincoat (in wet weather) 

Fitness & Restrictions

A fitness and safety waiver will be required to be signed prior to undertaking the experience.

Guests will not be permitted to take their own photographic device on the experience. A Go-pro can be hired for $49 from the Swim with the Salties Crew

This tour operates 7 days per week with transfers from Cairns, Northern Beaches and Port Douglas.  

This tour does not operate on public holidays.

Tour Tips

  • Leave only footprints, no rubbish; we cherish our sacred Country.

  • Don't forget your personal medication and please advise your tour guide if you have any existing medical conditions such as a pacemaker or any other heart or medical condition.

  • Please advise your tour guide if you are unable to swim or unable to swim confidently on your own.

  • Please advise your tour guide if you are taking any medications that might be used in the case of an emergency - e.g EpiPen
